Original birch tree in Santa Maria.

While living in Santa Maria, CA, I started learning how to make macrame wall decor, incorporating the pruned limbs from the birch tree in our backyard. In 2020 my husband and I downsized our belongings to move to Paso Robles but made sure we packed as many birch limbs as possible.

When I begin a macrame project, I rarely know what it will look like when it's finished. Curiosity fuels all of my projects. Selecting cords, knots and beads to highlight the personality of a natural tree limb is a delight and a challenge.

On display now at Kennedy Fitness Center in Paso Robles!
